I'm Joseph Lawrence. I've been qualified for twelve years, and I served in the military before working for myself. I work alone from West Wickham, in the London Borough of Bromley, with a couple of trusted electricians I bring in on larger jobs.

The jobs I enjoy most are consumer units, rewires on empty properties, kitchens and garden lighting. I also work with landlords and letting agents on inspections and the remedial work that follows.

Most people think electrics are fine because they look fine. A lot of what can go wrong is hidden behind a faceplate or inside a wall, so every job starts with testing, and I explain what I find before I start work.

I take evening and weekend work, and emergency calls until 10pm. Not through the night: I have two young children, and I would rather tell you the hours I will actually answer than promise a 24-hour line.
